At Legacy Farms, our story begins with Andra and Dan — two hardworking members of this community whose lives have always been rooted in dedication, perseverance, family and most importantly, faith.

Dan’s love of farming began at an early age. Raised around agriculture, his passion for livestock was shaped not only on his family’s land — which has now been in our family for nearly five generations — but also on the farm of his other grandfather, where his appreciation for animal care and stewardship truly took hold.

He pursued that passion at Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. After college, Dan worked as a herd manager on several of Western New York’s largest dairy operations, gaining hands-on experience in herd health, nutrition, and livestock management. Eventually, he answered another call to serve and began a career in law enforcement, retiring from the sheriff’s office in 2023.

Andra has been just as dedicated in her own way. A small salon owner in this community for more than 20 years, she built her business on relationships, trust, and hard work before retiring and closing her doors in 2025. Her entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to excellence, and passion to use the natural resources that God gave us has continued to shape everything we do at Legacy Farms today. The Legacy Farms Naturals line was birthed from there and offers a line of clean, natural skin care and household items created from the tallow of our own livestock.

In 2016, Dan realized he couldn’t shake his love for farming or his desire to continue the family legacy. Together, Andra and Dan transformed the land into the beef operation it is today, raising Angus and Angus cross cattle with the same care, integrity, and work ethic that have defined our family for generations.

Retirement, it turns out, didn’t slow either of them down. With the help of their sons and daughters, what began as a small local farm is steadily growing into something more — an opportunity to bring the Legacy Farms WNY brand of high-quality beef to the greater community while staying true to the values we were raised on. Adding to the established beef production, free-range chickens and eggs were incorporated as the desire in the community grew to want to know where our meat and eggs are coming from.

At Legacy Farms, this isn’t just a business. It’s a continuation of a five-generation legacy, a reflection of our family’s dedication, and a shared effort to build something meaningful together.
